customer counts

Customer counts and surveys provide valuable information to markets.  Results can lead to improvements and also document the market’s role in the community. Think of it as people-watching for a good cause!

Customer counts are conducted by counting (with a hand-held clicker) adults entering the market at each entrance for 10 minutes each hour.

Volunteers may share a count date.  If not shared, the duration is 4 hours.  If shared each volunteer commits to 2 hours.

Not all entrances have seating available for counters, so please bring a folding chair if you cannot stand for long periods.

Counting requires the ability to focus and ignore the many distractions present at markets.
