Founded in 1978, the Albany Farmers’ Market is the oldest continuously operated open-air farmers’ market in Oregon. Located in the City Hall parking lot and on an adjacent street that fronts the Linn County Courthouse, the market offers visitors an abundance of fresh, locally sourced food. From ripe, juicy produce to artisanal cheeses and freshly baked bread, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The market also features the Power of Produce Club, a kids’ program for ages 5-12 that provides hands-on educational activities and promotes healthy eating habits.
Although the market has evolved over the years, it continues to honor its roots and celebrate the community’s deep connection to the land. So whether you’re a longtime resident or just passing through, come experience the magic of the Albany Farmers’ Market for yourself.

Find Your Spot: Where to Park at the Farmers’ Market
Parking downtown is all free! Most customers find spots nearby on 3rd and 4th avenues, Broadalbin and the west side of Ellsworth. If you end up parking on the other side of Ellsworth, consider using the light at 3rd Ave. to cross safely.
We also have Linn County’s permission for customers to use the spacious lot at 4th and Ferry. And WaFd lets us have handicapped parking and product pick up behind their building on the north side of the City Hall parking lot.
Restroom Break? Our Farmers’ Market Has Got You Covered
The market provides an accessible portable toilet just off 4th Ave near SW corner of City Hall.
BRINGING FURRY FRIENDS TO MARKET
Our markets have a long history of accommodating four-legged customers – but we need dog owners’ help and cooperation to make the farmers’ market work for everyone.
Animals are not allowed in vendor stalls where food is sold.
Keep your leash short to prevent:
- Trip hazards
- Unwanted human contact
- Contact with market products
- Nose to nose dog contacts
Be prepared for messes. If you find yourself without a bag, please ask for one at the market info booth.
If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for dog paws! Home is often a safer place for animals than inside a car.
SNAP, DEBIT, CREDIT, WIC
You may notice a lot of different currencies at the farmers’ market. There are so many kinds that we have a currency guide posted at the market booths and on A-frame signs here and there. You can also view a PDF version now.
Yes, we still take cash!
Some but not all vendors are equipped to take debit and credit cards. You can use debit/credit cards at all three outdoor market sites. Go to the market booth and change some plastic into wooden tokens. It’s fun and easy. The debit tokens also make great gifts or incentives!
The main thing we do at the market booth is convert SNAP to tokens/vouchers that are worth $1 (no change). We match SNAP up to $20 per day with Double Up Food Bucks, a $2 voucher.
Many eligible vendors take WIC and Senior vouchers from June through November.
GETTING THERE
4th and Ellsworth, City Hall parking lot and an adjacent piece of 4th Avenue
For many customers living in the Monteith District and other residential areas in and around downtown, walking or biking to the market is an enjoyable way to get there.
Regular city buses do not operate on weekends, but the Linn Benton Loop’s Saturday Shopper route stops at 2nd & Lyons, providing access to downtown and the market area. For current bus schedules and additional information, please visit the Linn-Benton Loop Bus website.
