CORVALLIS SATURDAY

SATURDAYS, 9 AM TO 1 PM, APRIL 2o–NOV. 23, 2O24 AT 1ST AND JACKSON

The Saturday edition of the Corvallis Farmers’ Market is a bustling hub of activity and community connection. As the youngest but largest of the three farmers’ markets in the area, it draws in crowds from all over the city and beyond. Set against the backdrop of the picturesque Riverfront Commemorative Park, which features a beautifully designed multimodal path along the river and a playful interactive fountain, this market offers not only fresh and delicious locally sourced food but also an opportunity to explore the beauty of the surrounding natural environment.

Since its founding in 1991, the Corvallis Farmers’ Market has been a crucial building block of the Riverfront revitalization project, providing a platform for local farmers to sell their goods while creating a sense of community and pride in the area. The market has become a beloved tradition for residents and visitors, offering a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere to all who come to experience its charm.

Walking along the riverbank on the multi-modal path can be a relaxing way to get to the market.

Find Your Spot: Where to Park at the Farmers’ Market

Parking is a mixed bag of free and paid. METERS are patrolled on Saturdays!

Try out the two blocks of First Street north of Van Buren. These blocks are behind the two downtown motels.

Be sure to exit north via Tyler. Van Buren is the Highway 34 bridge headed east only.

There is also some on-street parking on First Street south of Monroe and on Jackson just west of 1st. Other “president streets” south of the market are happy hunting grounds for many customers.

Restroom Break? Our Farmers’ Market Has Got You Covered

The market provides an accessible portable toilet on the Jackson plaza. City park restrooms are located on 1st at Van Buren. Help the market be a good neighbor by using our facilities rather than those of neighboring businesses — unless you are patronizing them also.

BRINGING FURRY FRIENDS TO MARKET

Our markets have a long history of accommodating four-legged customers – but we need dog owners’ help and cooperation to make the farmers’ market work for everyone.

Animals are not allowed in vendor stalls where food is sold.

Keep your leash short to prevent:

  • Trip hazards
  • Unwanted human contact
  • Contact with market products
  • Nose to nose dog contacts

Be prepared for messes. If you find yourself without a bag, please ask for one at the market info booth.

If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for dog paws! Home is often a safer place for animals than inside a car.

SNAP, DEBIT, CREDIT, WIC

You may notice a lot of different currencies at the farmers’ market. There are so many kinds that we have a currency guide posted at the market booths and on A-frame signs here and there. You can also view a PDF version now.

Yes, we still take cash!

Some but not all vendors are equipped to take debit and credit cards. You can use debit/credit cards at all three outdoor market sites. Go to the market booth and change some plastic into wooden tokens. It’s fun and easy. The debit tokens also make great gifts or incentives!

The main thing we do at the market booth is convert SNAP to tokens/vouchers that are worth $1 (no change). We match SNAP up to $20 per day with Double Up Food Bucks, a $2 voucher.

Many eligible vendors take WIC and Senior vouchers from June through November.
