TWO PROGRAMS THAT HELP KIDS ACHIEVE A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD

Our 12-week Power of Produce Club at the Albany Farmers’ Market gives kids 4–12 years a chance to choose a free fruit or veg item each week at the PoP Club Booth. The program runs when Albany public schools are out for summer: June 17 through September 2.

The 2 Bite Challenge is part of PoP but is offered to kids of all ages. Each week we offer tastes of foods that may not be familiar and new ways to enjoy old favorites. Kids enjoy giving their feedback on a whiteboard.

Kids Days at the Wednesday farmers’ market in Corvallis are for all ages but is designed to serve serve the younger families who attend this market. Participants enjoy samples and age-appropriate activities.

This year we have 4 Kids Day events: June 19, July 5, August 5 and September 6.

Lead sponsors for PoP Club are Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund and Linn County Public Health. Community partners include Casa Latinos Unidos, Corvallis Environmental Center, Food Hero and the Albany Public Library.

Kids Day is sponsored by Stahlbush Island Farms. Activities are provided by OSU Food Hero, Community Health Centers and Corvallis Indoor Park, Maxtivity, the library bookmobile and Girl Scouts of OR and southwest WA.
