Learning Takes Root
Farmers’ markets are community gathering spaces and places of informal learning. CAFM offers a limited amount of space to events and activities on most market days. Our preferred partners are other nonprofits, OSU, local governments and their contractors, and other community events.
We focus on subject areas that include food and nutrition, gardening, agriculture, human and animal health, art, history, reading, soil and water conservation/quality, and other science relevant to the natural world. We strongly encourage organizations to propose interactive events.

Center for Food Conservation & Waste Reduction

We plan to recruit participants to our workshop that centers around food waste reduction within the household and understanding food management behaviors. Participants will scan a QR code and sign up for a workshop where they will take a survey, receive a food scale and measuring cup, receive materials about food waste reduction, and learn how to complete a food waste audit in their home. Participants in our study will receive up to $100 for completing an audit.
