Learning Takes Root
Farmers’ markets are community gathering spaces and places of informal learning. CAFM offers a limited amount of space to events and activities on most market days. Our preferred partners are other nonprofits, OSU, local governments and their contractors, and other community events.
We focus on subject areas that include food and nutrition, gardening, agriculture, human and animal health, art, history, reading, soil and water conservation/quality, and other science relevant to the natural world. We strongly encourage organizations to propose interactive events.

The Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion programs offer volunteer opportunities for low-income seniors to work with youth in local schools and head start programs or with local seniors by helping them maintain independence by offering companionship, assisting with rides, and so much more. Volunteers receive a non-taxable stipend of $4 per hour for their service. Stop by to learn more about our programs, grab a brochure, or pick up an application!
